The heart wrenching tragedies that we often hear about is what prompted me to write this poem.

Sometimes there’s so much suffering,

Seems more than one can bear,

Some don’t even know the Lord,

Who can their sorrows share.

There is no one on this earth,

Who comforts like the Lord,

He can heal a broken heart,

Just take Him at His Word.

There is a friend in Jesus,

Just like the old hymn tells,

He bears our griefs and sorrows,

And saves our soul from hell.

When sorrows overwhelm us,

A nightmare that won’t end,

He heals the broken hearted,

Jesus, our faithful Friend.
